Anthracite grey (RAL 7016)
The default modern choice, and for good reason. Anthracite is a deep, warm charcoal that sits beautifully against red brick, render and stone. It instantly updates white UPVC and still looks considered ten years on. If you want one safe, contemporary colour, this is it. It's the most-requested shade on every one of our UPVC respray jobs.
Jet black (RAL 9005)
Sharper and higher-contrast than anthracite, jet black is climbing fast on new-builds and terraces with light render. It reads as bold and architectural. If you're torn between the two, we've written a full comparison: anthracite grey vs jet black UPVC.
Window grey (RAL 7040)
A lighter, cooler grey for owners who find white too plain but anthracite too dark. It ties frames neatly to a slate roof and keeps a frontage bright. A strong middle-ground choice.
Sage and Chartwell green
The best heritage choices for period properties. Soft, traditional, and a natural fit with cream render and stone. Sage suits cottages and Victorian terraces; Chartwell green is a classic on front doors and bay windows.
Cream, bone and agate grey
Warm, understated tones for owners who want to move away from stark white without going dark. They work particularly well on older and rural properties.
How to choose
Three quick rules:
- Match the era. Bold greys and black on modern homes; softer greens and creams on period properties.
- Look at the brick and roof. Pick a frame colour that picks up a tone already on the house.
- See it in your own light. Colours read differently in matt versus gloss, and in morning versus evening light. We bring sample panels to every survey.
Popular colours also vary by area. Our Cardiff, Swansea and Llanelli pages cover what tends to suit local property types.
