Can any UPVC be respraysed?
+
Almost any. The substrate has to be sound. We turn down frames with structural failure, broken hinges that can't be re-set, or rot in the surrounding render. We'll tell you straight after the survey.
Will it look like spray paint?
+
No. Properly prepped UPVC sprayed in three coats of Kolorbond looks factory-finished. The Kolorbond product is the same one used by frame manufacturers for their pre-coloured ranges.
How long does a UPVC respray take?
+
A whole-house standard job is one to two days on site. A single front door is half a day. Conservatories add a day.
Can I open my windows during the job?
+
Not on spray day. We mask the seals shut. From the morning after, they open as normal.
Do you respray window seals and gaskets?
+
We mask them off and leave them. The original rubber gaskets are designed to flex and seal, paint on them fails fast. We spray everything else around them.
What's the best UPVC colour right now?
+
Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) is the request we get most often. It pairs with red brick, render, and stone. Black is climbing fast on new-builds. Sage and cream are coming back for period properties.
Can you respray bi-fold doors and patio doors?
+
Yes. Tracks get masked, frames sprayed, doors removed where they swing out for full coverage.
Do you do garage doors?
+
Yes. Up-and-overs, sectionals, and roller doors. Same Kolorbond system, same five-year guarantee.
Will respraying UPVC void any warranty?
+
If your windows are under a manufacturer warranty, check the small print. Most UPVC warranties cover structural and sealed-unit failure, not surface colour, so a respray usually doesn't affect them. We don't drill, weld, or modify the frame.
What's the difference between Kolorbond and standard paint?
+
Kolorbond is a UV-stable, two-pack, paint system specifically engineered for non-porous plastic substrates. Standard exterior paint isn't. That's the difference between a five-year guarantee and a one-year peel.
Can you spray my conservatory roof?
+
The frames yes, the polycarbonate or glass panels no. If the panels are tired, we'll point you at a replacement panel specialist rather than risk the wrong product on the wrong surface.
Does the weather matter?
+
Yes. We need above 8°C, under 80% humidity, no rain forecast for 24 hours. In Wales that's not every day. We book around the weather.
What does the prep involve?
+
Wash with industrial degreaser. Sand to key the surface. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Mask glass, seals, hardware. Apply two-pack primer. Then three coats of colour. The prep is 70% of the work.
Can I respray my UPVC myself?
+
You can buy the materials. The hard part is the masking, the application, and the curing. Without HVLP spray equipment and a controlled environment, the finish won't last. We've finished a lot of DIY jobs that didn't.
What if I don't like the colour after?
+
We do a sample panel before spray day. You sign it off on site. If something goes wrong after that, we come back inside the five-year guarantee and put it right.
