Process

Eight steps from first email to final invoice.

No surprises. No day rates. You see what we do and when. Total time on site: one to two days for UPVC, two to four for a kitchen.

  1. 1. Photos and postcode

Day 0, 5 minutes. You email or WhatsApp us photos of the frames or kitchen, plus your postcode. We reply inside 30 minutes during business hours with a survey slot or an indicative range.

From you: phone photos, no special equipment needed.

  2. 2. On-site survey

Day 1-3, 30 minutes. We come to you. Measure every frame or every door. Photograph properly. Discuss colours and finishes. Bring colour sample panels in your shortlisted shades. Walk you through the process. No sales pitch.

From you: 30 minutes of your time, somewhere we can set down a few sample panels.

  3. 3. Written quote

Day 3-5, by email. Firm written quote. Itemised: materials, prep, primer, coat count, clean-up, warranty terms. The number you see is the number you pay. Valid for 30 days.

From you: read it, ask questions, take your time. We don't chase.

  4. 4. Book the date

Day 5 onwards. If you're happy, a small booking deposit secures your slot in our calendar. We agree a start date that works around the weather forecast. UPVC needs dry weather above 8°C; kitchens can happen year-round.

From you: small booking deposit. Amount stated on quote.

  5. 5. Prep day

Day of work, hours 1-6. Industrial degreaser wash on every frame or door. Sand to break the surface glaze. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Full masking of glass, hardware, seals, adjacent surfaces. This is 70% of the job.

From you: parking spot, access to a tap and a power socket, kitchen cleared of items on benchtops if it's a kitchen job.

  6. 6. Prime and spray

Day of work, hours 6-9. Two-part adhesion primer. Three coats of Kolorbond (UPVC) or Becker Acroma 2K lacquer (kitchens) in your chosen colour and finish, applied wet-on-wet within the recoat window.

From you: stay clear of the work area during spray. Open windows are masked shut for the duration.

  7. 7. Cure and refit

Day 2-4, hours vary. 24-hour cure window before the masking comes off. Hardware refitted. Glass cleaned. Kitchen doors rehung from the studio, soft-close hinges adjusted.

From you: nothing. We let ourselves out if you're at work.

  8. 8. Walk and sign off

Final day, 20 minutes. We walk the job with you. Every frame, every door, every detail. If anything isn't right, we fix it before invoicing. You sign off, we hand over the written warranty, you pay the balance.

From you: 20 minutes of your time, balance payment, agreement to leave us an honest review if you're happy.

Total time

Two weeks from first email, two days on site.

The whole process typically runs 10 to 14 days from your first email to final sign-off. Of that, you spend roughly 90 minutes interacting with us: 30 at survey, 20 reviewing the quote, 20 on sign-off, and the odd email in between.

The actual work on your home is 1-2 days for UPVC, 2-4 for a kitchen. We don't drag jobs. We don't subcontract. The person who quoted is the person on the tools.
