A red-brick new-build detached where the developer's standard white UPVC felt at odds with the owners' taste. They wanted the modern anthracite look found on higher-spec new-builds, across every external plastic surface, in one coordinated colour.

Why Anthracite grey (RAL 7016).
Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) is the default upgrade colour on premium new-builds, and it's exactly what brings a standard developer house up to spec. Sprayed in matt against the red brick, it makes the whole elevation look considered.
The prep behind the finish.
Every surface was washed with industrial degreaser, sanded to key the plastic, and wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Glass, seals, hardware and brickwork were fully masked, a two-pack adhesion primer was applied, then three coats of UV-stable Kolorbond colour. The preparation is around 70% of the work and the reason a respray lasts.
How it changed the property.
Every visible white plastic surface — frames, door, porch fascia and drainpipes — was sprayed to a single anthracite finish in two days. The composite door furniture was polished and refitted, leaving a coordinated, high-spec frontage.
The frames and glazing units were structurally sound — the only problem was the colour. Respraying kept perfectly good double glazing in place and delivered a factory-style finish for a fraction of the cost of replacement, in days rather than weeks, with no scaffolding and no mess.
