Commercial aluminium spraying

Refresh aluminium window and door systems without automatically replacing functional frames. We survey the existing finish, frame geometry, seals and glazing interfaces before specifying preparation and a compatible coating.

The scope

Surfaces and settings

  • Powder-coated or previously painted aluminium frames
  • Aluminium doors, transoms and mullions
  • Multi-unit colour changes and façade updates

Projects start with a site survey or a review of drawings, photographs and a finish schedule. We confirm the substrate, access, masking, programme and coating documentation before issuing a scoped quotation.

Preparation and delivery

How we approach the work

Aluminium requires careful cleaning and abrasion. We check existing finish adhesion, isolate glazing and gaskets, and agree which faces and rebates are included. Site spraying is planned to control drift around glass, public routes and neighbouring finishes.

What the survey needs to establish

A colour change is cosmetic: failed hardware, glazing, seals and thermally broken frame defects remain separate repair items. Some weathered or incompatible finishes require test patches or a revised coating schedule.

We agree site-specific method statements, risk assessments and COSHH information for the selected products with the site team. Technical Data Sheets and Safety Data Sheets can be reviewed as part of the specification. Access, working at height and operator competency are confirmed for each job.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can you coat frames in place?

Yes, where access, condition and masking allow it. We inspect representative frames before pricing a full elevation.

Will the glass be protected?

Glazing, seals and adjoining substrates are masked to the agreed scope; any damaged seals should be assessed independently.
